3OT: Problems, Haters, & Resetting Standards

"I believe that people die because they no longer want to live" - Cum D'Amato

Hey friends,

Quote of the week:

“You get used to everything. Even the idea of dying is something a person gets used too, and he accepts it. I believe that people die because they no longer want to live, they have no motivation to stay alive. But I have a reason with Mike here, and he gives me the motivation.” - Cus D’Amato (Mike Tyson’s legendary trainer)

3 Things:

  1. You think you want a life without problems, but you don’t. Problems are what makes life interesting. I loved this short story from Sam Harris:

  1. Reminder: No one hates you from above. The only people who hate you are doing worse than you. And you don’t need to worry about them.

  2. There is a lot of value in simply having your standards reset. Earlier this week I watched an interview with Mr Beast where he describe his process for A/B testing thumbnails. For one video, he tested 40 different variations of thumbnails; 4 major variations, and 4-12 minor variations within those 4. Most people test 2 or 3. Huge reset for me.

What I’ve been up to:

My new video is here!!

Podcast I’ve been enjoying:

David Senra is the host of the Founders podcast, which is phenomenal. This ep is basically a compilation of the best bits from Founders, with tons of crazy stories. The middle part about cautionary tales from Founders who destroyed their families by working too hard was especially good.

Cheers,

Ben
